Written by the Austin Human Rights Commission and co-signed by: The Central Labor Council, Education Austin Labor Union, Jewish Voice for Peace Austin, Interfaith Community for Palestinian Rights, Austin Justice Coalition, PODER Austin Environmental Justice Group, Palestine Solidarity Committee – UT, Democratic Socialists of America Austin, Party for Socialism and Liberation Austin, Palestinian Assembly for Liberation, and Indian American Coalition of Central Texas among others.

This resolution appeals to the Austin City Council to commit to the mission of the City of Austin in “fostering a community that embraces diversity and upholds the principles of equality and human rights” by “Vigorously” combatting “acts of antisemitism, Islamophobia, and anti-Arab sentiments by implementing programs and initiatives aimed at prevention, education, and awareness.” and to “Provide support to victims of hate crimes related to antisemitism, Islamophobia, and anti-Arab sentiments by ensuring that resources and assistance are readily available.” The Human Rights Commission further recommends the City of Austin to “Collaborate with community organizations to promote understanding, tolerance, and intercultural dialogue among different religious and ethnic communities” and further calls for support of a Ceasefire by the Austin City Council.
